For Future Expos
The Specialty Graphic Imaging

schedule, which will take effect in the fall of 2018, will allow the Expo to
spend two years in Las Vegas, followed by one year in a popular East Coast
destination, such as Orlando, where this year's Expo (94 percent of the show
floor sold out) will be held (October 23-25, 2013).See More/Less

"We've heard from many attendees and
exhibitors that they enjoy Las Vegas as a host city for the SGIA Expo,"
said SGIA CEO and President, Michael Robertson. "In response, we've
adjusted the Expo rotation to visit Las Vegas more frequently." SGIA will
open 2014 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas; October 22-24) booth registration to current

Acuity Digital Printer
Pro-Bind, a leader in thermal binding and equipment, has announced the
successful installation of an Acuity Advance UV digital printer. The Acuity
Advance sets a new standard for creating photo realistic images. It allows for
high speed UV digital printing on rigid and flexible material. At the heart of
the Acuity Advance is imaging quality that allows each print head to produce
variable size dropletsSee More/Less
This allows the printer to jet the droplets as
fine as 6 picoliters that produce sharp, crisp images with smoother transitions
and more details.
"This will open the door of opportunity to
print 4-color process on our entire product offering. From poly boxes and
report covers to vinyl binders, this fills a gap that we have offered on our
paper lines for years. Being able to ship quality 4-color process printed
products at a competitive price keeps our company and its distributors ahead of
the competition," Michael Byrd, Chief Operations Officer stated. "We
are bringing the world of traditionally silkscreened binders and presentations
products into the digital age."

"It will be enormously valuable for the Company to get out of Chapter 11,
and begin to regain its position in the pantheon of American business."
Kodak's Plan of Reorganization will become
effective upon emergence. The company is expected to finalize the remaining
aspects of its reorganization, including closing its settlement with the Kodak
Pension Plan, and emerge from Chapter 11 on September 3.
Kodak's chairman and CEO Antonio M. Perez says,
"Next, we move on to emergence as a technology leader serving large and
growing commercial imaging markets - such as commercial printing, packaging,
functional printing and professional services - with a leaner structure and a
stronger balance sheet. There are additional transactional steps ahead as we
complete our Chapter 11 restructuring, but with the Court's decision today, our
emergence is now imminent."

If you are an equipment vendor or reseller who delivers MPS solutions, now is a
good time to evaluate your MPS strategy. MPS presently encompasses much more
than an organization's printer and copier fleet. Customers are looking for the
turnkey, compreshensive benefits that a well-designed-and well-executed-MPS/MS
program can deliver.
The new direction of MPS/MS is for an
equipment vendor to expand into a wider and deeper offering. This approach
represents a fundamental shift from a focus strictly limited to cost control to
one based primarily on value. Many equipment vendors are adopting an end-to-end
view of solution planning and implementation that extends well beyond the
lifecycles of individual pieces of equipment.

Reform Bill Emerges From Senate
A bipartisan measure to reform the US Postal Service has emerged from the
Senate. Sens. Tom Carper (D-Del.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) introduced the bill
on Aug. 1 and hope it can get Congress closer to fixing the agency that has
been hemorrhaging money. The Senate bill proposes a new way to prepare for
future retirees that could cut costs in half. It also opens the door to ending
full Saturday delivery within a year and would try to move the USPS away from
door-to-door delivery in many cases. For more information, visit
