OCTOBER 2012
GRAPH EXPO 2012:
A TRADE SHOW ABOUT "NEW TECHNOLOGY" AND A
TRADING PLACE ABOUT EVERY FACET OF PRINT, IMAGING, FINISHING . . . and
everything in between.
Am here at the office with my feet soaking in
hot water and epson salts. Don't laugh! You may one day have the privilege of
walking the aisles of a large trade show like Graph Expo at the age of 80 years
and 11 months.
Aside from aisle walking looking for new
products to write about, Pat Leavitt and I were looking for manufacturers who
had unique products to sell through the dealer channel. We met a few - so keep
reading future issues, you may be amazed at who we are attracting to use the
pages of Dealer Communicator to market their products.
As I walked through the show, it was obvious
that digital is the hot topic, and offset continues to diminish. However
whether you want to agree with me or not, Offset and Its Supporting Services,
such as binding-finishing, Is Still Alive. And, if you're one of the dealers
that are actively engaged with your offset customers, serving them properly and
making sure they Know You Care About Them, I assure you, you will be (to use an
old expression) THE LAST MAN/WOMAN STANDING in a sea of dealerships that forgot
what they learned in Sales and Communications 101.
THE GLOBAL DEALER
SUMMIT, A CO-LOCATED EVENT ON THE SHOW FLOOR OF GRAPH EXPO, was a
"show extra" where seven powerhouse speakers provided visitors with
information found nowhere else. Soon, their presentations will be uploaded to
our website where you can download at your convenience. We'll be sending emails
out about this.
